Mineral compounds containing sulphur, called sulphides, are present in most metal ore bodies. Smelting and refining these metals separate sulphides from the metals, resulting in the creation of sulphuric acid as a by product.
At Kennecott Utah Copper, copper ore from the mine is upgraded using a flotation process to produce a copper concentrate, which is about one third copper, one third iron and one third sulphur. The smelting process breaks the elements apart and the sulphur is released as sulphur dioxide gas. The smelter captures the sulphur dioxide emissions and cleans them before piping the gas to the acid plant, where it is converted to sulphuric acid.
The extraction of sulphur dioxide and processing into sulphuric acid is an important pollution control device that also produces a high-quality commercial product.
As sulphuric acid is highly corrosive, our operations ensure that all employees who work in its production follow very strict safety and health guidelines.

Manchester United Football Club is an English football club, based at the Old Trafford stadium in Trafford, Greater Manchester, and is arguably the most popular football club in the world,[2] with over 330 million supporters worldwide[3][4] – almost 5% of the world's population.[5] The club was a founding member of the Premier League in 1992, and has played in the top division of English football since 1938, with the exception of the 1974-75 season. Average attendances at the club have been higher than any other team in English football for all but six seasons since 1964–65.[6]
The club is the second most successful in the history of English football and by far the most successful of recent times, having won 20 major honours since the start of Alex Ferguson's reign as manager in November 1986.[7] They are the Premier League's reigning champions, and have won England's top division 17 times, one short of Liverpool's record of 18 league titles. In 1968, they became the first English club to win the European Cup, beating S.L. Benfica 4–1. They won a second European Cup as part of an unprecedented Treble in 1999, before winning their third in 2008, 40 years almost to the day after their first. The club also holds the record for the most FA Cup titles with 11.[8]
Since the late 1990s, the club has been one of the richest in the world with the highest revenue of any football club,[9] and is currently ranked as the richest and most valuable club in football, with a value of £897 million (1,333 mil / $1.8 billion) as of May 2008.[10] Manchester United was a founding member of the now defunct G-14 group of Europe's leading football clubs and its replacement, the European Club Association.
Sir Alex Ferguson has been manager of the club since 6 November 1986. The current club captain is Gary Neville, who succeeded Roy Keane in November 2005.[11]

Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The books chronicle the adventures of the eponymous adolescent wizard Harry Potter, together with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, his best friends from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The central story arc concerns Harry's struggle against the evil wizard Lord Voldemort, who killed Harry's parents in his quest to conquer the Wizarding world, after which he seeks to subjugate the Muggle world to his rule.
Since the release of the first novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 1997, which was retitled Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the United States, the books have gained immense popularity, critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide.[2] The series has spawned films, video games and Potter-themed merchandise. As of June 2008, the seven book series has sold more than 400 million copies[3] and the books have been translated into 67 languages.[4] The seventh and last book in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was released on 21 July 2007.[5] Publishers announced a record-breaking 12 million copies for the first print run in the United States alone.[6]
The success of the novels has made Rowling the highest-earning novelist in history.[7] English language versions of the books are published by Bloomsbury in the United Kingdom, Scholastic Press in the United States, Allen & Unwin in Australia, and Raincoast Books in Canada.
Thus far, the first five books have been made into a series of motion pictures by Warner Bros. The sixth, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is scheduled for release on July 17, 2009.[8] The series also originated much tie-in merchandise, making the Harry Potter brand worth £7 billion ($15 billion).[9]
